In case you missed it, Vermont's own
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals dropped their fourth studio album,
The Lion the Beast the Beat, back on
June 12th via
Hollywood Records. Lead single "
Never Go Back" is a soulful piece of pop/rock perfection with Potter and company turning it out as they always do.
I'm a late bloomer when it comes to
Grace Potter, not really knowing anything about her until 2010s "
Paris (Ooh La La)" dropped. Next thing I knew, Potter was
EVERYWHERE including
VH1 Divas, and on the soundtrack for
Tim Burton's
Alice and Wonderland film. The band really hit the mainstream with the release of their third, self-titled album on
June 8th 2010, when it peaked at #5 on the
iTunes Top 100 Albums chart and at #2 on the
iTunes Rock Albums chart. "
Paris (Ooh La La)" was a modest hit as well, charting in the
Top 40 on
iTunes.
The Voice contestant
Ashley De La Rosa performed a fantastic version of the song for her
LAST CHANCE PERFORMANCE, ultimately saving her that week.
Check out the stunningly bizarre companion video for "
Never Go Back," directed by
Isaac Rentz and download the new album (
iTunes US/
iTunes UK).
