[Review] Natalia Kills - Problem

Well this is a pleasant surprise! New Natalia Kills single!  Check out "Problem" BELOW and prepare to rock out with your...well, you get the idea.  "Problem" originally leaked last month in its unfinished form, but rather than whine and rant about people and patience, Kills hit the studio with producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, fun., Natalia Kills) and made it into the punchy piece of darkpop perfection that you hear today.  It sounds like a natural next step for Kills, who's last album was so so underrated. I'm glad she's not deviating from her usual blend of pleasing-to-the-ear, dark-twisty melodies, and rough-around-the-edges glam-pop production.  It just wouldn't be a Natalia Kills record otherwise!  "Problem" is out now on iTunes.

Following the release of her debut album, Perfection, in 2011, I wasn't expecting a new album so quickly.  Then again, I guess it's 2013 now...so...I guess it's been a little while? 2 years is an appropriate span of time between albums, right?  Natalia Kills is literally...a PERFECTIONIST so I have a feeling that if this album wasn't ready to come out, it wouldn't be coming out.

"Problem" is the first taste of what's to come for Ms. Natalia Kills and what's to come is a brand new album - Trouble - due later this year on will.i.am/Cherrytree Records/Interscope.  The album was executive produced by Bhasker, who also worked on her last album.  

Perfectionist peaked on the Billboard 200 chart at #134 and on the Dance Albums chart at #6.  Her only charting song in the States was the STUNNING "Mirrors," which hit Top 5 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club chart.  Abroad, Kills saw more success with two singles in hitting the Top 10 in Austria: "Mirrors" (#7) and "Free" featuring BOSS will.I.am (#4).  In total, Kills has sold over 750,000 singles worldwide.
