Jason Castro Makes His Social Media Presence Known

Jason CastroIn one of Atlantic Records email updates, I was surprised to see a little plug for Jason Castro. I knew he was signed to the label recently but I wasn't expecting promotion to start so soon. Jason has a Twitter page, MySpace and an official site already up and running. While the site is pretty bare at the moment, Jason regulary updates fans via his Twitter & MySpace pages.

While I don't necessarily consider myself a Jason Castro fan...I'm eager to hear what he has to offer on his major label debut later this year. It was announced fairly recently that Jason Castro signed on board with Atlantic Records (Rob Thomas, Jason Mraz, James Blunt) and that he was writing new material with American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Guy Chambers and other top industry writers. That's a pretty impressive team, if you ask me. I'm hoping he goes for a Jack Johnson/Jason Mraz sort of vibe...nothing too crazy and "outside the box" but we shall see.

Jason's been social media present since the day he got kicked of AI. He was doing weekly datenight videos on youtube for his fans and keep in regular contact with them on myspace as well as his own site which is http://www.jasoncastromusic.com

Now with Atlantic Records he will get the big push and we are all excited for his CD.

Thanks for the comment Cathy Anne. I didn't mean to suggest that Jason wasn't present in social media before his major label signing, just to say that this is the first I really noticed it. It's clear that his major label backing is going to help get his name out there and I wish him tons of success.+
