Hot Video Alert: Carrie Underwood - Good Girl

Carrie Underwood Good Girl

As ya'll know I am NOT a country boy - no way, no how. That being said, I've always had a little sweet spot for Carrie Underwood.  She's just so dang pretty and that VOICE. It's just BEGGIN' for a pop crossover song.  While Underwood herself has pretty much put the kibosh on a Faith Hill country-to-pop switcheroo, new single "Good Girl" is about as country-pop as we're going to get from Ms. Underwood and it's enough to satisfy me.


Written by Chris DeStafano, Ashley Gorley and Carrie Underwood and produced by Mark Bright (Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Scotty McCreery), "Good Girl" was released February 23rd via Underwood's label Arista Nashville.  The song is a rousing, up-tempo, foot-stomper of a song, perfectly showcasing Underwood as the belter she proved herself to be during her season of American Idol.  While the song kind of has the same punchy, aggressive country-pop vibe of past hits like "Cowboy Casanova" and "Before He Cheats," if Carrie Underwood were to release songs like this for the rest of her career, I wouldn't complain one bit.

"Good Girl" is the first single lifted from Carrie Underwood's fourth album, Blown Away, due May 1st.  As it stands right now, the single sits pretty at #8 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and is still climbing, while the song peaked at a respectable #18 on Billboard's Hot 100.  Check out the Theresa Wingert-directed video before and see Underwood stomping around like she owns the place in some sexed-up bar maid costumes and sexy stilettos. WERK it girl.

It is still climbing the charts. Where did you get that it already peaked?

I've amended my post slightly, as you're correct. "Good Girl" is still climbing Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and several other charts. As for the Hot 100, the song peaked at #18 back on March 17th. Thanks for your comment!
