JoJo Promises "2010 Is Going To Be My Best Yet!"

Outspoken young R&B singer/actress JoJo is just one of a slew of artists who have taken to social media outlets to express a dislike for record label politics. JoJo is clearly frustrated with her label, surrounding the upcoming release of her third album. The singer announced via Twitter a while back that she left Blackground, the label that handled her first two albums, and moved things over to Interscope Records.

In a new blog post written on Thursday November 5th, JoJo says "Can't get too specific with what is going on with the album yet, but I promise you we are taking all the steps to get it out to you." She goes on to say "Unfortunately, it is not as simple as 'Okay, the deals done, now we're just going to throw the album on the shelves!' It has been a long frustrating road, but I believe by faith that 2010 is going to be my best yet."

JoJo also takes this opportunity to express her frustration with the new material that keeps leaking online, saying "I know a lot of records have been leaked, and it bothers me SO MUCH, but I want you to know that they only scratch the surface of what I have been working on. The album has most certainly not been spoiled or disrupted because of hackers/leakers." Hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer.

I've always admired JoJo's outspokenness. I've also admired her for being such a dedicated musician. Not only is she talented, but she seems to be a smart, savvy and very well spoken. Having loved her debut album, I wasn't too crazy about The High Road. To me it sounded too similar to her debut and there was too much in the way of slow to mid-tempo R&B. I'm hoping that the new album will see her experiment with some different sounds. I haven't listened to too many of the leaks that have surfaced, so I'm even more excited to hear legit and official new JoJo material. While we're waiting, keep your eyes peeled on JoJo's official MySpace page. She hints at a major redesign coming up very soon.
