Hot Video Alert: Sneaky Sound System - We Love
While a lot of good pop music happens to come out of Sweden, Australia is absolutely another place that knows a thing or two about pop talent. Sneaky Sound System are a Sydney-based duo, made up of guitarist and producer Black Angus and singer Connie Mitchell. The uber-catchy "We Love" is the first single to be taken from the band's forthcoming third album, From Here To Anywhere, due October 7th in Australia/New Zealand and elsewhere October 17th via Modular Recordings.
The pair started writing the album in 2009, jotting down verses, hooks and choruses entirely on their own while touring the world. Now, nearly 2 years later the band is ready to unleash their quirky brand of electropop on the universe. Fans can expect the same "strobing techno-pop lightning bolts" that they've come to know and love, amplified times a thousand. Here's a bit more about the new record, straight from the band's press release:
"Connie's passionate, virtuosic vocals and Angus's savvy, gleaming production shine throughout, from the bouncing, genre-defying first single "We Love" to the throbbing pulse and simmering drama of "I Remember." Elsewhere there's the dreamy, soaring "Big" and the darkly seductive "The Colours," all moody bass and robotic beats. And even when the pair venture into what might be dubbed familiar territory, on the likes of the emotive "Friends" and the electrifying "Really Want To See You Again," they pull off the rare feat of sounding simultaneously vintage and futuristic."
Sneaky Sound System got together for the first time back in 2004, when their reputation locally started to explode, thanks in part to the weekly Sneaky Sundays club night (which is still going strong) in Sydney. After releasing tons of singles, the band finally put together a enough of tracks to release their self titled debut album in 2006, which went on to win ARIA awards for 'Best Dance Release' and 'Best Breakthrough Artist' in 2007. Sneaky Sound System released album #2 (simply called 2) back in 2008, featuring the #1 UK dance single "It's Not My Problem." The duo joined forces with Dutch DJ Tiësto for 2009's "I Will Be Here," which went all the way to #1 on the Billboard dance airplay charts, introducing the band to Stateside audiences in a massive way.
Catch the super sexy, super cheeky video for "We Love" below, filled with lots of NSFW visuals. The video is a lot of fun but very crass and not appropriate for work viewing. It's literally one gigantic double entendre and I am obsessed. Download the EP on U.S. iTunes HERE and get ready to dance to remixes by Pleasurekraft, SSS, Bart B More and Ashton Shuffle.
