Cheryl Cole To Release New Single and Album In June, Video Premieres May 2nd

While UK pop fans are all still shaking, hoping and praying for a Girls Aloud reunion, I may have the next best thing.  The return of Ms. Cheryl Cole.  Oh, and for the record, it's just CHERYL now.  That's right folks, Cheryl is back and she's going the MADONNA route and dropping her last name.  Cheryl's brand new single, "Call My Name" will be shipped out to UK radio on Friday April 20th, preceding the singles official release on June 10th. Get ready world!

"Call My Name" was written and produced by Scottish DJ/producer/songwriter and Rihanna hitmaker Calvin Harris and serves as the lead single off her forthcoming third album, A Million Lights, which is due June 18th through Polydor Records.  Recorded in London, New York City and LA, A Million Lights features collaborations with top talent including Alex Da Kid (Rihanna, Alesha Dixon, Eminem), will.I.Am (Black Eyed Peas, Kelis, Ciara), controversial popstrel Lana Del Rey, Jim Beanz (Nelly Furtado, Danity Kane, Shakira) as well as newcomers Pantha and HyGrade.  Other rumored collaboration partners include Far East Movement, Taio Cruz, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna, although nothing has been officially confirmed.  However which way you slice it, Cheryl's new album is gonna be dope.

Stay tuned for news on Cheryl's new single and album, details of which I'm sure will be coming our way shortly.  Next up, catch the premiere of Cheryl's "Call My Name" video which is set to debut on her official VEVO channel May 2nd.  Directed by Anthony Mandler (Rihanna - "Only Girl (In The World)"; Nelly Furtado - "Maneater"), the video was shot in downtown Los Angeles.

A Million Lights follows Cheryl's successful first two albums, 2009's 3 Words, which debuted at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned hit singles "Fight For This Love," "3 Words" and "Parachute."  Sophomore album, Messy Little Raindrops, also entered the charts at #1 and featured  Cheryl's second #1 single, "Promise This," as well as the top twenty hit "The Flood."  Check out the fantastic video for "Fight For This Love" BELOW while we patiently wait for her new single, and grab your favorite Cheryl tunes on iTunes.
