Natalia Kills Releases New will.I.am-Assisted Single

In case you haven't heard, there's a new Natalia Kills single out today in the States and it's the perfect summer jam! "Free" is hands down one of Kills' most radio-friendly singles to date, aided in a big way by songwriter/producer and Black Eyed Peas frontman Mr. will.I.am. Featuring lyrics like, "Wanna be like Midas, but my bank account is minus," the song is all about being broke but feeling fabulous, something I can totally relate to right now. "Free" is the third single released here in America, following the "The-Ron" Feemster-produced "Wonderland" which came out in April. Kills' debut U.S. single, "Mirrors" peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart, becoming Natalia's first Billboard chart hit to date! Go girl! Let's get another one on the charts!

"Free" is taken from Kills' forthcoming debut album, Perfectionist, which is due out August 16th on will.i.am/Cherrytree/Interscope Records. The album has already been released in France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Poland and is due out in the UK July 13th on Polydor Records, making America the last stop. With 2010 being as insane as it was, Natalia Kills doesn't look to be slowing down in 2011. Per the press release:
"Natalia has sold thousands of singles, received millions of hits on youtube, performed for the former president of the United States at Austria’s prestigious Life Ball, collaborated with FrankMusik, LMFAO, Far East Movement and will.i.am, has performed at some of the worlds most respected venues from Radio City Hall to the Stade de France as well as completing her debut album ‘Perfectionist’ in the studio which boasts collaborations with Kid Cudi, “The Godfather of Chicago hip-hop” Dion Wilson aka No I.D and Akon.

In just under a year Natalia Kills has gone from being an underground buzz artist on the internet, after releasing a series of short films titled Love, Kills written and directed by the cinemaphile herself which led attention to her first unofficial video and single named Zombie, also produced by Jeff Baskher better known for producing Kanye’s last 2 full-lengths and directed by Kills herself."

Can we say WHIRLWIND? Her debut album features top notch production from Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West: 808 & Heartbreak and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy), Theron Feemster (Micheal Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes), Martin "Cherry Cherry Boom Boom" Kierszenbaum (Lady Gaga, t.A.T.u), and Fernando Garibay (Britney Spears) and remains one of my most highly anticipated albums of the summer. In the meantime, if you're looking for a Kills fix, check out LMFAO's "Champagne Showers" single and video, which prominently features the dark princess of pop as a mysterious vampire queen. Kills plans to tour Europe this summer alongside the Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars and LMFAO followed by a string of North American dates, including a small club tour and dates with Ke$ha soon to be announced. This summer, it's all about Kills, Natalia Kills. Listen to the new single below and buy "Free" on U.S. iTunes HERE.

Ones to Watch in 2011: Avery

Let me introduce you to Avery, a 16 year old singer/songwriter from Phoenix, Arizona. Recently signed to Universal Records as one of the youngest artists on the roster, Avery's latest single, "Go Screw Yourself (GSY)" is an attitude-filled pop-punk anthem guaranteed to make you move. Very reminiscent of Avril Lavigne in her prime, "Go Screw Yourself" has HIT written all over it, and seeing that Avril just released the last single-worthy track off her latest flop album, Goodbye Lullaby, now is as good a time as any for Avery to swoop down and corner the pop-punk music market.

In January of 2011, Avery was named 'The Next Big Thing' by Entertainment Tonight and seemingly for good reason.  Passionate about music at a young age, Avery played Gabriella in a local production of High School Musical as well as performing in her hometown choir. Before signing with Universal, Avery was discovered on YouTube and flew out to Orlando FL where she signed with Plush Records, recording her first single, "Love Me Or Let Me Go." The video was shot and uploaded onto her YouTube account in May of last year, amassing over 1 million views in just three months time. AMAZING!  "Love Me Or Let Me Go" is another Avril-worthy pop-punk jam, complete with a catchy chorus and fiery attitude.  The video follows Avery as she takes a box filled with memories of an ex boyfriend and ultimately dumps it off the roof of a building.  The video is interspersed with clips of Avery rockin' out to the song in a club, performing with a band and an amped up crowd of teenagers.

Currently at work on her debut album due out later this year, her new single "Go Screw Yourself (GSY)" was released May 28th on Plush/Universal.  Download the single on U.S. iTunes HERE and watch the lyric video below.
