Fans Vote for the Next Britney Spears Single

Britney Spears - Circus

When I saw The Prophet Tweet a teaser about a new Britney Spears single - I got excited. Unfortuneately, Britney's label hasn't announced a new single from Circus just yet. Instead, they are trying to get fans to vote for the next single. The choices? Well...we have:
  • Out From Under
  • Kill The Lights
  • Shattered Glass
  • Unusual You
  • Blur
  • Mmm Papi
  • Mannequin
  • Lace and Leather
  • My Baby
  • Trouble (Bonus Track)
  • Amnesia (Bonus Track)
  • Phonography (Bonus Track)
I voted for "Unusual You," as it's always been one of my favorite songs on the album followed closely by "Out From Under." Seems like a lot of fans want them to release a ballad next, which makes sense. There hasn't been a good Britney ballad single since 2004's "Everytime." Oh...and no I didn't forget about 2005's "Someday (I Will Understand)" from Britney & Kevin: Chaotic - I was just talking about GOOD Britney ballads. Anyway...my choices for singles are bolded and in yellow above. What do YOU think should be the next Britney single?

Lily Allen - 22 Video Premiere

Lily Allen
And the 4th Lily Allen single off of her second album is..."22!" Not an obvious choice for a single if you ask me, but it's a good song. The video isn't the most up-lifting video, especially coming after the hilarious video for "F**k You." I guess I don't know what I was expecting...the song after all, is fairly melancholy. At this point, I'll take all the Lily Allen I can get!

My Weekly Last FM Chart

Second week doing this LAST FM chart report thing. Here goes nothing. By the way, it's nearly 6 AM. Why am I up? My sleep schedule is all out of whack this week...I fell asleep around 10:00 and woke up after midnight so I've been watching "Deadwood," and a really bad Nick Cage film. Anyway...here's the music chart for this past week. Check out last week's chart HERE.

Last FM Chart
Most Listened To Artists:

I've been listening to Kelly's new album a lot more recently. It really is a good album, despite what some people might be saying. Sure, it's more pop than her last album. Who cares. There are quality songs on there. Beyonce and Jordin...I honestly think Beyonce is showing up in my chart due to all of the remixes I have on my iPod. I haven't listened to Sasha Fierce in full since it came out. Jordin Sparks - same thing. I've been listening to her "One Step At A Time" remixes a lot, as well as the new "Battlefield" remixes. I can't wait for her new album, out in a couple of weeks. I'm also thrilled that her new single will be "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play), which samples Shannon's dance hit "Let The Music Play."

Most Listened To Songs:

2. VV Brown - Shark In The Water
3. Keisha White - Don't Mistake Me
5. Freemasons feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)

I don't know what it is about that Pitbull song, but I can't stop listening to it over and over again! VV Brown is someone I am drawn to as well, but for a completely different reason. I'm sad to report that her album has leaked in full, but I definitely implore you to go out and purchase it next week. I will be ordering mine from CDWOW. Keisha White is an artist whom I quiet enjoy. I think I first heard of the Brit before her song "Don't Mistake Me" made it onto an episode of Grey's Anatomy, but I don't remember. She also has a nice cover of Joan Armatrading's "The Weakness In Me" (which I first heard on the 10 Things I Hate About You soundtrack). The Steamweaver remix of Beyonce's new single is good, definitely go and download it if you haven't already. I love Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and this LIVE PERFORMANCE of her doing this song just reiterates how talented she is.

Sally Shapiro - Love In July

Sally Shapiro
I just saw the new Sally Shapiro video for her single "Love In July," out on July 17th. What a cute video. Generally, I'm irritated when a video for a song is released without an appearance by the singer...but in Swedish singer Sally Shapiro's case, I'll make an exception.

Sally Shapiro
Shapiro has shied away from publicity since she first gained popularity in 2006-2007. In fact, the name Sally Shapiro is just a pseudonym. Shapiro's style definitely falls into the electro-pop genre, which is my preferred style these days. I enjoyed a few songs off of her first album, Disco Romance, and downloaded the remix EP for "I'll Be By Your Side." I downloaded a few remixes from her Remix Romance Volumes 1 & 2, released last year and really dig the first single, "Miracle" off of the new album My Guilty Pleasure, out August 25th.

Love In July - Sally Shapiro
Popjustice featured "Love In July" as their song of the day this past Friday and included the video. The video is the animated tale of a goldfish and his friendship with a whale. It's very Finding Nemo-esque. It's also completely random. I don't care though, I find it absolutely adorable.
