Hot Video Alert: Jason Derülo featuring Jordin Sparks - It Girl (Remix)

American recording artist Jason Derülo unveiled a brand new remix of his single "It Girl," featuring his girlfriend, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.  Not showcasing anything drastically different from the original, the "It Girl" remix features Sparks singing some verses as well as portions of the chorus and is accompanied by a super cute video featuring behind the scenes footage of Sparks and Derülo together in the studio, at home and in concert. All in all, very cutesy and sweet.  The couple truly looks very happy together.

Derülo originally released "It Girl" last August, where it went on to achieve international chart success including a Top 20 run on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.  Written by Derülo, Emanuel Kiriakou, E. Kidd Bogart and Lindy Robbins, the song was promoted with live performances on America's Got Talent and The Wendy Williams Show as well as with a music video directed by Colin Tilley (Mary J. Blige, Keri Hilson, Katy B).  "It Girl" was the second single released off of Derülo's sophomore release, Future History, a follow up to "Don't Wanna Go Home" and preceding subsequent singles "Breathing" and "Fight For You."

Jordin Sparks Gets Dancey On New Single, 'I Am Woman'

Well, THIS is a pleasant surprise! American Idol alum Jordin Sparks is set to release the first single off of her upcoming third album next Tuesday. Due out digitally on May 10th, "I Am Woman" marks a decidedly different musical direction for Sparks, who's last album was a mixed bag - both critically and chart performance-wise. "I Am Woman" is less syrupy sweet than previous releases, with more of a focus seemingly placed on slick pop production rather than on Sparks' impressive vocal range. I'm inclined to agree with The Prophet, who likens the song to Beyonce's latest single "Run The World (Girls)." Produced by Ryan Tedder, the man responsible for Jordin's last real hit, "Battlefield," the song doesn't exactly SCREAM hit to me. This could be because I've only listened to it once, but if I'm basing this off of first impressions alone...I'm left wanting more.

Via Amazon.com
The single premiered yesterday on AOL Music alongside an interview with Sparks where the 21 year old pop singer opened up about her new trim figure, female role models and her upcoming new album. In addition to working with Tedder, Sparks collaborated with R&B singer John Legend as well as the Underdogs, the team behind her biggest hit, "No Air." Sparks also talked about opening for NKOTBSB (New Kids On The Block + Backstreet Boys) on their joint summer tour. According to the interview, Sparks is getting ready for the "I Am Woman" video shoot, working on choreography...which is interesting since there's not even a director yet. Sparks tells AOL Music,
"Everything is still in the early stages. I'm still looking for an amazing director to do the video and we'll see what happens, but this time around I'm really trying to step my game up. I want to evolve, not so much that people don't know who I am still, but I'm experimenting with different things and different sounds and adding choreography is definitely different. So I'm excited!" {SOURCE}
Like I said...the jury is still out for me on "I Am Woman." It could take a few more listens to settle in for me so I'll reserve final judgement for later, but at first listen, this is where my head is at.  Listen to the new single over on AOL Music by clicking HERE and tell me what you think. If you're craving new music from Jordin Sparks now, you can download "The World I Knew," from the Disney documentary African Cats HERE on iTunes.  Sparks also shot a video for the song which you can catch over on VEVO HERE.

American Idol Celebrates 10 Years with a 'Hits' Compilation

Wow. It's hard to believe American Idol's been on the air for nearly 10 years. To commemorate the first 10 years of Idol, 19 Recordings and RCA Records are releasing a new compilation for fans of the show to drool over. American Idol 10th Anniversary - The Hits: Volume 1 features hits from Kelly Clarskon, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Daughtry, David Cook, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Lee Dewyze. While there are some notable artists missing from the bunch (i.e. David Archuleta, Katharine McPhee) this is only Volume 1. Presumably there'll be a volume 2?

Due for release on March 15th, the 12-track album features such hits as "Since U Been Gone" (Kelly Clarkson), "Before He Cheats" (Carrie Underwood) and "No Air" (Jordin Sparks). American Idol is currently in the midst of it's 10th season which kicked off last month. It makes sense that RCA is releasing a compilation right now, given the fact that Sony is no longer the label that Idol winners will be signed to. The torch has since been passed to Universal Music Group, who signed a distribution deal with American Idol show runners this past summer. Under the agreement, "Interscope Geffen A&M Records will distribute, promote and market albums from "Idol" finalists and winners" in 2011 and going forward {SOURCE}. As shocking as this might seem initially, I think it's a good move. This will give the Idol contestants a fresh pool of music to dive into, rather than recycling the same old songs season after season. I guess time will tell if this decision was a good one. Check out the tracklisting for American Idol 10th Anniversary - The Hits: Volume 1, BELOW.

Tracklisting:

1. Kelly Clarkson - “Since U Been Gone”
2. Ruben Studdard - “Superstar”
3. Clay Aiken - “Invisible”
4. Fantasia – “When I See U”
5. Carrie Underwood – “Before He Cheats”
6. Taylor Hicks – “Takin’ It To The Streets”
7. Daughtry – “Home”
8. Jordin Sparks (duet with Chris Brown) – “No Air”
9. David Cook – “Light On”
10. Kris Allen – “Live Like We’re Dying”
11. Adam Lambert – “Whataya Want From Me”
12. Lee DeWyze – “Sweet Serendipity”

Jordin Sparks Re-Records 'Beauty and The Beast' Theme for Film's Blue-Ray Release

Imagine my surprise when I saw, in this week's Entertainment Weekly magazine, a "First Look" at Jordin Sparks in the new music video for her version of the Disney Classic "Beauty and The Beast." Sparks' version was recorded to mark the Blue-Ray release of the animated film on October 5th. Beauty and The Beast has always been one of my favorite Disney cartoon movies (if not THE favorite). The song, recorded by Céline Dion and Peabo Bryson played during the 1991 film's end credits and was released as a single where it peaked at #9 on both the Billboard Hot 100 Chart as well as the UK Singles Chart (in 1992). Sparks' version will be accompanied by a video (pictured above) that was directed by Philip Andelman. According to Sparks in the EW article, ''We didn't change the song too much, but it is poppier,'' she says. ''I wanted it to be different, so people aren't like, 'Oh, she's trying to be Celine.'''

Another Album Art Update

Another album art update! Do I need to apologize? I don't think so. I love this stuff so I'm just going to keep going. With the exception of the Preston artwork (from Covermania), everything comes from Coverlandia.

Preston - Dressed To Kill
27 year old Samuel Dylan Murray Preston AKA Preston is HOT. Just check out this interview he recently did with Popjustice. Skinny, tattoos, funky haircut - what's not to love? Oh. He's got a great voice to boot! Preston was the lead singer of the British indie band, The Ordinary Boys, which saw some modest success over in the UK. He also finished fourth on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2006. "Dressed To Kill" is the first single off his upcoming solo album, Whatever Forever, due out sometime this Fall. The single was released this week and features remixes by Michael Gray, James Doman, Juan Kidd and Starsmith.

Paulina Rubio - Causa y Efecto Urban Mix

This is a hot track...well...the original version is anyway. I haven't listened to the "Urban Mix" just yet. I haven't really listened to much of Paulina Rubio since her 2002 hit "Don't Say Goodbye." Rubio's had a great deal of success on Billboard's Latin Charts over the years, but hasn't really ever hit mainstream radio as hard as she did with her Border Girl album. This song makes me want to listen to her new album, Gran City Pop which came out in June and has already sold 200,000 + copies in the U.S. The second single is "Ni Rosas Ni Juguetes" and was released on August 14th. (P.S. - check out this Spanglish duet of "When You Say Nothing At All" with Ronan Keating.)

Katharine McPhee - Unbroken
I'll be doing a more in depth Katharine McPhee post at a later date, but for now, here's the recently released album artwork for her second solo record, Unbroken (out October 6th). As I mentioned in my last album art update (this morning), the first single from Unbroken is "Had It All" and that's out now digitally. Still lovin' the blond bob and the subtle bits of pink. Nice album artwork.

YES! It's about time we got some artwork for this track. Jordin is looking mighty fit! The second single off of Jordin Sparks' Battlefield album and follow up to the title track, "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)" is a radio-friendly pop jam. It's due out October 5th in the UK and contains a heavy sample of Shannon's 80s dance classic, "Let The Music Play." I love this song and am definitely ready for something more up-tempo from Ms. Sparks. While I agree with some bloggers/critics that this song isn't horribly original (I mean more than just sampling another song!) it's fun and has major Top 40 potential. The video was shot by Chris Robinson, who also worked with Sparks on the "No Air" video. Don't forget to check out this Matt Pendergast remix of the track. Hopefully we'll get some more remixes in the not-to-distant future.

Jade Ewen - My Man I'm not going to go into much detail about Jade Ewen, other than to say I love this album artwork. When I mentioned her "My Man" video earlier this month, I included a press photo of Jade. Turns out the same photo was cropped and used as the single sleeve art. She looks great! As for remixes...I still haven't heard anything besides the Cahill mixes, which I'm still enjoying the quite a lot. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing her album, Punching Out, due in September.

My Weekly Last FM Chart

So, since I rarely listen to the same track more than...2 - 3 times on average. Sure...there are the occasional tracks that really grab a hold of me (i.e. - "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)," "Je Suis Une Dolly") but for the most part I like to change things up. With that being said, I'm going to just post my top listened to artists each week. Perhaps I'll do top listened to tracks once a month? Perhaps not. Here it goes...my most listened to artists for the past week, according to Last FM.

Last FM Chart
Most Listened To Artists:

4. Billie Piper

Will you look at that? All of my girls, right there in my Top Ten. And then there's Ray LaMontagne. This weeks chart is indicative of the music I was feeling this past week. With life as hectic and stressful as it is, I lost myself in my work and my music. To help get me through the day, I need up-tempo, driving dance beats that both cheer me up and keep me energized. At the same time, those days that I am exhausted, beat down or just hung over...I need to slow down the pace and put on music that helps me relax. Looking at this chart, we cover all of our bases.

On the up-tempo side, we have the Sugababes, Kylie Minogue, Cyndi Lauper and Alesha Dixon...and to slow things down we have Ray LaMontagne, Elliott Yamin and to an extent, Jordin Sparks. We also have some artists that strike the perfect balance of the two - artists like the Noisettes, Billie Piper, and Kelly Clarkson. Speaking of Billie Piper...I wish she'd consider a return to music...I love her to death in Secret Diary of a Call Girl, but I ADORE her pop hits of the late 90s/2000s. Pure pop brilliance. Like honey to the bee.

Album Review: Jordin Sparks - Battlefield

Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
Congratulations Jordin Sparks. You made a second album that doesn't suck. I guess I should congratulate you on making it to album #2 without being dropped by your label, as is what sadly happens to so many American Idol alums. When I purchased Sparks' self-titled first album I was buying it because of her strong vocals, personality and lead single "Tattoo." Jordin's Idol single, "This Is My Now," while not bloody-awful, is standard reality show-winning single-fare. First single "Tattoo" was good...not amazing. Follow up single "No Air" was AMAZING, and third single "One Step At A Time" was decent. Rumored 4th single "Permanent Monday" faded back into oblivion for me, as did the rest of the album. Thank God for the series of remixes that followed for "Tattoo," "No Air," and "One Step At A Time," otherwise Sparks would have completely been lost on me.

Jordin Sparks
By the time the Ryan Tedder-produced "Battlefield" was released I was ready for some new Jordin Sparks. I instantly fell in love with the single. While the song was in fact a mid-tempo ballad, it's not anything soft and sweet...Sparks' vocals are quite powerful. After listening to the first single a half dozen times, I was ready for the new album. Battlefield is for Jordin Sparks, what Breakaway was for Kelly Clarkson. A really solid second album. While there's certainly some filler tracks on this new album, a majority of the songs are single-worthy in my opinion.

The album starts out strong with "Walking On Snow," a fun little jam written by Lucas Secon (Britney Spears, Sean Kingston, The Pussycat Dolls, Sarah Connor). Another standout on the album is Sparks' cover of the Fefe Dobson track "Don't Let It Go To Your Head." While I love Fefe's version, Jordin's take is slightly softer. It has just enough edge without it being too rocky. Second single, "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)" is a good choice for a second single, despite it featuring a sample of the slightly over-used Shannon dance hit "Let The Music Play."

Jordin Sparks
Other choice tracks: "It Takes More," the rocky-ballad "Let It Rain," the beautiful "Faith" and to close the album, "The Cure." The only slightly forgettable tracks are "Watch You Go," (which actually gets better about halfway through the song), "No Parade," "Emergency (911)" and "Was I The Only One." It's not that these songs aren't well sung or well produced, they just didn't really do anything for me. A couple of them might grow, but this is how it stands right now.

Jordin Sparks
I hope this album does well for Jordin. So far it's not really outselling her debut, although it did land in the #7 spot on the Billboard Charts...higher than her first album (Jordin Sparks debuted at #10). I think part of the reason her last album went on to be as successful as it was, was her Chris Brown duet - "No Air." Without a strong single like that on this album, I'm just trying to stay positive. Perhaps she'll release a re-packaged album with that Leona Lewis duet that everyone's been buzzing about. However Jordin Sparks winds up doing on the charts, she should be proud. This album is a worthy follow up.

My Weekly Last FM Chart

Here's this weeks Last FM chart, chronicling this past week in terms of most listened to artists and songs.

Most Listened To Artists:

This past week, the new Jordin Sparks album came out. As a result, Jordin appears in both my most listened to artists for the week as well as most listened to tracks. I've been dealing with a bad cold/flu this past week, so the soothing sounds of Regina Spektor and Duffy were helpful in making me feel better. Blake Lewis...as I get ready for his new album, Heartbreak On Vinyl...I went back and listened to his debut album, as well as his new brilliant single "Sad Song." Good stuff! Lily Allen...there's always room for Lily! Her music just makes me happy.

Most Listened To Songs:

1. Jordin Sparks - The Cure
2. Jordin Sparks - Don't Let It Go To Your Head
3. Jordin Sparks - Faith
5. Jordin Sparks - Walking On Snow

Hmmm...turns out I didn't to the same song more than twice this past week. All of these songs I listened to 2 X exactly. Other songs that made the list include the rest of the Jordin Sparks record and the Brooke Hogan/Flo Rida jam, "Ruff Me Up."

New Jordin Sparks Remix! - S.O.S. (Let The Music) Play"

I bought the new Jordin Sparks album, Battlefield yesterday and love it. Sure it's got a few more ballads than I might normally like ...but they aren't the soupy-sappy kinda ballad...nope! They're the slick-hooky kind of ballad...meaning filled with catchy hooks! With the writing/producing team she had with this album, it totally makes sense.

Jordin Sparks
The remix package for first single "Battlefield" was decent. Mixes by Bimbo Jones, Jason Nevins, Mike Rizzo and others were all...DECENT. With an anthemic jam as strong as "Battlefield" - the remixes should have been equally as powerful. Here's hoping that second single, "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)" does "Battlefield" one better. We're off to a good start, with this Matt Pendergast remix posted exclusively on Billboard.com. What do you all think of this remix?

My Weekly Last FM Chart

Here it goes...my most listened to artists and songs of the past week according to my Last FM chart.

Most Listened To Artists:

I listened to Regina Spektor a lot this past week. As I mentioned in my little review, her album is pretty damn amazing. From the songwriting, to the melodies and instrumentation - Far is just a solid record through and through. Dan Black's album is also solid, although completely different. It's up-tempo electro-pop and I'm hooked on two tracks in particular: "Symphonies" and "Alone." VV Brown - love her. Enough said. Jordin Sparks - hmm...well the new album leaked. It's coming out on Tuesday and I plan to pick it up for sure. It's a solid pop album with lots of good hooks. Amy Winehouse...I saw some pictures of her online, showing her looking better than she has recently...and there was a glimmer of hope. Her first two albums are so nearly perfect...I really shouldn't need an excuse to listen to them.

Most Listened To Songs:

1. Regina Spektor - Laughing With
2. Dan Black - Symphonies
3. Shakira - She Wolf
4. Regina Spektor - Blue Lips
5. Dan Black - Alone

Spektor's single "Laughing With" is so good. It pulls at my heart, which isn't necessarily something I want to show while at work. There was just something so mesmerizing about her voice...perhaps it's her soft-spoken tone or perhaps it's her slight accent...whatever it is I can't get enough. "Symphonies" isn't as good as "Hypntz" would have been but it's pretty darn close. "She Wolf" has been growing on me since day one. I love the "Aaaoooo" in the chorus and the fierce electro-beat is insane. Can't wait to hear some remixes for this track, although I don't know if we even need any. "Blue Lips" is another Regina song that hit a chord. Then again, if you'll look at my top 20 you'll see that virtually every track from that album is on there.

Fefe Dobson Song Chosen as Reality Show Theme

Fefe DobsonFefe Dobson I Want You
I was excited to read that Fefe Dobson's new single ("I Want You") has been chosen as the theme for a VH1 Reality Show. I've loved this girl since her first album came out...or a couple of months after it came out anyway. I don't quite remember which song first got me hooked on Fefe Dobson - perhaps it was her third single, "Everything," or perhaps it was her debut U.S. single "Take Me Away." By the time her fourth single came out - I was sold. Granted, "Don't Go (Girls and Boys)" was completely different than her other singles in that it was more top-40 friendly. Up-tempo and poppy. I loved her other songs as well, but they weren't as much fun.

Fefe Dobson Sunday Love

After her self titled album came out in 2003/2004, Fefe seemingly dropped off the map. She resurfaced during the writing/recording of her follow up album, Sunday Love, blogging on MySpace...however after a couple of release date shifts, the album was ultimately shelved. So annoying. I personally was hoping for something more along the lines of "Don't Go," but of course the two new singles were not up-tempo pop jams. I liked "Don't Let It Go To Your Head," and "This Is My Life" but I think they were poor single choices. Since I have yet to listen to the album, I don't know if there were any other single-worthy tracks on there...I guess I'll never know.

Fefe DobsonFefe Dobson

With a new album, Joy, set to come out in September, Dobson is back on MySpace and now Twitter. Dobson's newish "Watch Me Move" was featured in promos for NBC's now cancelled show Lipstick Jungle, and according to her blog - her newest song "I Want You" has been selected as the theme for a new VH1 show called "Megan Wants A Millionaire", which premieres on August 2nd. This is all very positive. I'm wishing her the best. Hopefully this new album makes it onto store shelves! I'm eagerly anticipating a new full length LP from this sassy/classy girl. Oh...and listen for a Jordin Sparks cover of "Don't Let It Go To Your Head" on Jordin's forth coming album on July 21st. It's not half bad!

New Music Tuesday: VV Brown, Dan Black & More

And I wonder where all of my money goes...in addition to dropping just over $100 on that Girls Aloud Singles Boxed Set, I bought some full length albums as well this week. Here's the rundown...

Regina Spektor
Regina Spektor - Far: I love, love LOVE this album. I really got hooked on Regina Spektor with her commercially successful single "Fidelity" (another thank you owed to "Grey's Anatomy") but I went back and started listening to some of her older stuff as well. I liked it. While I still prefer Begin To Hope, to previous effort, Soviet Kitsch - Far may be my new favorite. I was surprised to read that Jacknife Lee produced a few tracks on the album. Why surprised? Because I knew Jacknife Lee as a remixer only! He did remixes for Christina Aguilera's "Can't Hold Us Down," Pink's "Just Like A Pill" and U2's "Vertigo" to name a few.

Top Tracks: "Laughing With," "Wallet," "One More Time With

Check Out Regina Spektor on the web: Official Site//MySpace//YouTube

VV Brown

VV Brown - Travelling Like The Light: [SEE PREVIOUS POST FOR FULL REVIEW] I ordered the debut album from British artist VV Brown on Monday morning from CDWOW, in addition to two other CDs.

Top Tracks: "Shark In The Water," "Crying Blood," "L.O.V.E.," "I Love You"

Check Out VV Brown on the web: Official Site//MySpace//Facebook//Bebo//YouTube//Twitter

La Roux
La Roux - Self Titled: As for La Roux, I don't know much about them, other than what I've read and what I've heard. I know I love singles "In For The Kill," "Quicksand," and "Bulletproof," as well as all of the associated remixes. I also know that I love Elly Jackson's vocals and personal style. Finally...I know that I'm disappointed that La Roux isn't coming to Boston as part of their small U.S. tour. My hope is that this tour is just a small teaser and that they will be back. Next single in the UK is "I'm Not Your Toy," and I'm looking forward to familiarizing myself with that track as well as the rest of the album.

Dan Black
Dan Black - ((Un)): You've heard me rave about Dan Black as well. Well, truth be told, other than this online sampler that's been floating around (including the now defunct single "Hypntz" - a cover of Notorious B.I.G.'s "Hypnotize") and clips of his new single "Symphonies," I don't know the first thing about Dan Black! I know he's cute and talented. I also know that I like his style of electro-pop and that he has HUGE remix potential. He kind of reminds me of Sam Sparro, another electro-pop artist that I enjoy. Like La Roux, Dan Black is another artist I am looking forward to familiarizing myself with. Check out previous singles "Alone," "Yours" and the acoustic version of "U + Me =". Order the album HERE.

AND THERE'S MORE...on iTunes today I purchased the new Shakira single "She Wolf," the long-awaited digital remix EP of "It's Your Love" from Melinda Doolittle, "First Train Home" from Imogen Heap and a couple "Love In July" remixes by Sally Shapiro.

What a week! And it's only Tuesday! Ha! I think I'm good for a little while...at least until the new Jordin Sparks album drops on July 21st.

Any other new music I should check out?

My Weekly Last FM Chart

Second week doing this LAST FM chart report thing. Here goes nothing. By the way, it's nearly 6 AM. Why am I up? My sleep schedule is all out of whack this week...I fell asleep around 10:00 and woke up after midnight so I've been watching "Deadwood," and a really bad Nick Cage film. Anyway...here's the music chart for this past week. Check out last week's chart HERE.

Last FM Chart
Most Listened To Artists:

I've been listening to Kelly's new album a lot more recently. It really is a good album, despite what some people might be saying. Sure, it's more pop than her last album. Who cares. There are quality songs on there. Beyonce and Jordin...I honestly think Beyonce is showing up in my chart due to all of the remixes I have on my iPod. I haven't listened to Sasha Fierce in full since it came out. Jordin Sparks - same thing. I've been listening to her "One Step At A Time" remixes a lot, as well as the new "Battlefield" remixes. I can't wait for her new album, out in a couple of weeks. I'm also thrilled that her new single will be "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play), which samples Shannon's dance hit "Let The Music Play."

Most Listened To Songs:

2. VV Brown - Shark In The Water
3. Keisha White - Don't Mistake Me
5. Freemasons feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)

I don't know what it is about that Pitbull song, but I can't stop listening to it over and over again! VV Brown is someone I am drawn to as well, but for a completely different reason. I'm sad to report that her album has leaked in full, but I definitely implore you to go out and purchase it next week. I will be ordering mine from CDWOW. Keisha White is an artist whom I quiet enjoy. I think I first heard of the Brit before her song "Don't Mistake Me" made it onto an episode of Grey's Anatomy, but I don't remember. She also has a nice cover of Joan Armatrading's "The Weakness In Me" (which I first heard on the 10 Things I Hate About You soundtrack). The Steamweaver remix of Beyonce's new single is good, definitely go and download it if you haven't already. I love Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and this LIVE PERFORMANCE of her doing this song just reiterates how talented she is.

My Favorite Music Videos RIGHT NOW!

So, I'm not ashamed to admit it...the disposable income I do have goes to music AND the occasional music video, which I then put onto my iPod for some enjoyment on the T(rain). Here are some of my favorite music videos of the moment.

  • VV Brown - Shark In The Water - I've talked about this girl before, but I can't stop raving! Her album is out in the UK soon and this is her latest single. She looks stunning in the video!

  • Wale feat. Lady Gaga - Chillin' - Love Gaga in anything.

  • Dan Black - Symphonies - Wish he was able to release his cover of Biggie's "Hypnotize," but this is a suitable replacement single.

  • David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland - When Love Takes Over - Holy dance hit! Congrats to Kelly, who, although was dropped from her label recently, collaborated with dance genius David Guetta and put out this number 1 dance hit!

Forthcoming & Recently Released Remixes!

Here are some upcoming remixes that are being serviced to DJs, either digitally or via CD. I'm jealous. I wish I knew how to spin. I'd love to sign up for one of these services. Anyway - these are some of my favs! Can't wait for some of them to surface!
Jordin Sparks - Battlefield: I cannot WAIT for this song to get remixed. I'm thrilled that Bimbo Jones is on the mix. I was hoping for an anthem, not something Bimbo Jones usually delivers. Perhaps some U.S. mixes will surface? What a great track.

Label: RCA/Jive
Tracks:
1. Bimbo Jones Radio Edit
2. Bimbo Jones Club Mix
3. Monk & Prof Mix
4. Monk & Prof Instrumental
5. Radio Edit

Jonas Brothers - Paranoid: I've never really been a Jonas Brothers fan to be honest. It's a bit below my demographic, however I'm willing to give anything remixed by StoneBridge a chance. Last remixes I heard from these boys were the Jason Nevins remixes of "When You Look Me In The Eyes." These sound promising.

Label: Hollywood Records
Tracks:
1. Stonebridge Edit
2. Stonebridge Club Mix
3. Stonebridge Dub
4. Soul Seekerz Edit
5. Soul Seekerz Club Mix
6. Soul Seekerz Dub
7. Original

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi: I've already heard these puppies and let me tell you - Moto Blanco worked it out (in my opinion). Love, Love, Love! Stuart Price's pop mix is actually a nice alternative to the radio edit. The Yusek mix is interesting as well, though not so good for a dance club. I need to listen to the others. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that there were mixes for this track already!
Lady GagaRelease Date: 7/6/2009
Label: Interscope

1. Radio Edit
2. Filthy Dukes Mix
3. Stuart Price Mix
4. Yuksek Mix
5. Moto Blanco Edit
6. Demo Remix
7. James Camareta Mix
8. Bonus - Moto Blanco Club Mix
9. Bonus - Moto Blanco Dub

Metro Station - Seventeen Forever: While I most certainly do NOT want to be 17 forever, I'm interested to hear these mixes. Lenny B also did some mixes for the bands first single, "Shake It" which were alright. I'll give these a shot. I wish there was more of a package here. Oh well.

Label: Columbia
Tracks:
1. Lenny B Extended Mix
2. Lenny B Instrumental
3. Original
4. Instrumental

Royksopp feat. Robyn - The Girl & The Robot: I love most any music out of Sweden, and anything with Robyn on vocals. While I still think I prefer the original version of the song to any of the remixes, the Spencer & Hill mixes are quite nice. I need to give the rest of them a good listen.
Royksopp & RobynRelease Date: 5/27/2009
Digital Release Date: 5/27/2009
Tracks:
1. Radio Edit
2. Album Version
3. Spencer & Hill Remix
4. Spencer & Hill Edit
5. Joakim Remix
6. Kris Menace Re Interpretation
Taylor Swift - Teardrops on My Guitar: I absolutely LOVED the Digital Dog, J Stax and Nevins mixes of "Love Story," so when I saw that there was a Cahill mix for Swift's "Teardrops on My Guitar," I nearly died. Of course, I'd rather there be a bunch of mixes - I'll take this one please. Thanks. ;-) P.S. - anyone know how long this "edit" is? Is there a full length mix?

Taylor Swift

Release Date: 6/01/2009
Tracks:
1. Cahill Edit

The Script - Before The Worst: These sexy boys are coming back to Boston soon. They were scheduled to play at the Paradise but the show was cancelled (poor ticket sales?). Last remixes I heard from these guys was "We Cry," with remixes by Bimbo Jones, Ashanti Boyz, Afroganic. I kind of wish "The Man That Can't Be Moved" got some remixes, but beggars can't be choosers. Armand Van Helden (almost) always delivers, so this should be good.

The ScriptRelease Date: 6/15/2009
Tracks:
1. Armand Van Helden Mix
2. Original

Valeriya - Wild: Love this song! Wow. This song AND it's remixes are FIRE! Back when this Russian pop star (who many say is the Russian equivalent to Madonna) released her first UK single - "The Party's Over," it took a while for me to get into it. The remixes were alright, with jams churned out by the Manhattan Clique & Ortega & Gold, the song just wasn't anything special. "Wild" should have been the first single - HANDS DOWN! An impressive remix package includes mixes by Manhattan Clique, Oretega & Gold, Ian Carey and Bimbo Jones. I'll say it again - FIRE!

Valeriya

2. Bimbo Jones Remix
3. Ian Carey Remix
4. Ortega & Gold Remix
5. Ian Carey Club Mix
6. MHC Dub
7. Bimbo Jones Dub
8. Ortega & Gold Dub

Will Young - Tell Me The Worst: Who's my favorite Pop Idol? Well, it's not Michelle McManus (although I did enjoy the Soul Survivor remix of "Just For You"). Will Young - not only do I have a crush on the guy, but his voice melts souls...in a good way. I bought his last album, I also bought a promo for his single "Grace" off of Ebay. Remixes for "Grace" came to us from Fred Falke and Tom Neville. There were also some great remixes for his first single, "Changes," by Chris Lake & Superbass. The new single features remixes by Fred Falke. Can't wait!

Dolly Rockers - Je Suis Une Dolly: Don't know much about these girls, but I love their look and their video. This song is fun and the Soul Seekerz generally churn out a decent pop/dance remix. I'm game.
The Dolly RockersRelease Date: TBC
Label: Parlophone
Tracks:
1. Radio Edit
2. Soul Seekerz Retro Club Mix
3. Soul Seekerz Club Mix

Chris Cornell - Long Gone: Chris Cornell remix. Never thought I'd see the day. Well, that's not true - but still a little surprise. I enjoyed the remixes to "Part of Me" by DJ AM, DJ Demarko, Quentin Harris, Steve Aoki, Kleerup and others. Not bad...nice rock edge...sort of Tommie Sunshine-esque. These mixes for "Long Gone" come to us from Digital Dog, which sounds like fun to me!

Label: Interscope
Tracks:
1. Digital Dog Club Mix
2. Digital Dog Dub
3. Digital Dog Edit
4. Digital Dog Urban Extended
5. Radio Edit
6. Radio Pop Mix Edit

V.V. Brown - Shark In The Water: While I already own some of these, the promo I got on Ebay wasn't the same one mentioned below. Noticeably and disappointingly absent from my promo were the Wendel Kos Sunlight Mix and the Louis La Roche Dub. Overall, I'm disappointed. I was hoping for something a bit more "housey" but I guess they'll do. Can't wait for her album. It's certainly one of my anticipated summer albums of this year. Girl's got talent for miles.

Zarif - Over: Love her. Just got into her, but I already love her. I just started listening to her remixes for "Let Me Back" and now we get word that her second single is already being remixed? HOT! Can't wait. Bimbo Jones, Digital Dog, Paul Jackson - hot trio right there.

MSTRKRFT & John Legend - Heartbreaker: I'm sure there will be some mixes of this song...at least I hope so. I love John Legend and I enjoy MSTRKRFT. The combo sounds like a winner to me. I very much enjoyed the remixes I heard of "Ordinary People," and of course the remixes of "Green Light." I have high hopes for this one!

Kevin Rudolph feat. Kid Cudi - Welcome To The World: Kevin Rudolph...is he pop? Is he rock? Is he R&B? Is he hip hop? I don't know anything about this guy! I love him all the same, but I don't know a thing about him. I could always do some research (and perhaps I will) but for right now, it's all about the music. This promo features mixes from RedTop. There are also mixes floating around from Mike Rizzo. I enjoyed the remixes I heard of Rudolph's "Let It Rock," and I of course enjoy Kid Cudi - so I'll give these a listen.
