Cher Releases Promo Video for 'You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me'

I know I'm probably the only gay on the planet who hasn't yet seen the epic new Christina Aguilera/Cher masterpiece, Glitter 2 Burlesque, and I'm TOTALLY OK with that. Don't get me wrong, I love my divas individually (Cher & Christina: work it girls) I just don't know if I'm ready to see them acting together on the big screen. I think I'm just going to have to Netflix that shit when the movie comes out on DVD. That all being said...I just had to share this glorified movie trailer that magnificently uses Cher's Golden Globe-nominated "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me" as the backing track. It's simply awesome to hear Cher doing her thing again.

The song, one of only two that Cher performs in the film, was penned by Diane Warren and remixed for the clubs by Almighty, Dave Aude and StoneBridge. Destined to be played on dancefloors everywhere this winter, "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me" has had quite the ride on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, since it's first appearance 6 weeks ago. The song has already peaked at #3, dropped to the #14 two weeks ago, jumped back up to #8 and currently sits pretty at #5. QUITE the roller coaster ride! I'd LOVE to see this song become Cher's first #1 dance record since 2003's "When The Money's Gone" so let's keep our fingers crossed.

In the meantime, check out the promo video below and download the remixes on iTunes HERE or get the whole Burlesque soundtrack HERE.  Also, check out Cher as a guest on the fabulous Graham Norton Show HERE where she plays a silly little Cher-inspired game with British  actress, writer and comedian Dawn French. Amazing orange wig. Cher = Goddess. Love.

'Burlesque' Soundtrack To Feature New Music From Cher and Christina Aguilera

I haven't been THIS excited for a film soundtrack since Glitter back in September of 2001. OK. That's DEFINITELY an exaggeration but I have to say...I'm pretty excited for this one. Hello!? Cher + Christina Aguilera on one soundtrack? AMAZINGNESS. While there doesn't appear to be any duets on the album the 10-tracks seem to give both stars a chance to shine.
On November 22nd, RCA Records is set to release Burlesque, the soundtrack to the film starring Cher and Christina.

Not only does Aguilera star in the film but she also co-wrote many of the songs featured on the soundtrack. The album reads more like a slick pop production rather than a film soundtrack, featuring production from Tricky Stewart, Linda Perry and Ron Fair and additional songwriting by Claude Kelly, Tricky Stewart and Sia. Cher will be singing two brand new tracks including the Diane Warren-penned ballad "You Haven't Seen The Last of Me," produced by Matt Serletic. This will be Cher's first new music in seven years so it's kind of a BIG DEAL! In addition to the original tracks the album includes a string of covers of classics like "Something's Got A Hold On Me" (Etta James) and "A Guy What Takes His Time" (Mae West).

Burlesque the film was written and directed by Steven Antin and produced by Donald De Line. Released by Screen Gems/Sony Pictures, the movie is out November 24th nationwide. Check out the tracklisting below and the album artwork up top.

Tracklisting:
1 Something’s Got A Hold On Me (performed by Christina Aguilera)
2 Welcome To Burlesque (performed by Cher)
3 Tough Lover (performed by Christina Aguilera)
4 But I Am A Good Girl (performed by Christina Aguilera)
5 Guy What Takes His Time (performed by Christina Aguilera)
6 Express (performed by Christina Aguilera)
7 You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me (performed by Cher)
8 Bound To You (performed by Christina Aguilera)
9 Show Me How You Burlesque (performed by Christina Aguilera)
10 The Beautiful People (from Burlesque) (performed by Christina Aguilera)

Cher Remixes On Masterbeat

Cher Remixes on Masterbeat So last week, Masterbeat announced in their email newsletter, that there would be an "exclusive" digital catalog of Cher remixes. This got me excited! Of course, I have most of them anyway (I recently purchased a few Cher maxis on Discogs Marketplace). Still...this is cool! I'm hoping Masterbeat continues to bring on the remixes! iTunes is getting better at releasing dance music, but Masterbeat is doin really well lately, getting some remixes a couple of weeks before iTunes. I love it! Check them out by clicking on the links at the top left & right of the page.

Mandy Moore, Black Eyed Peas, Cher & Girls Aloud

Since I started Tweeting last week, I've become relatively obsessed with Twitter! Where else can you "follow" (AKA cyber stalk) Lily Allen, Ashton Kutcher and John Cleese? Insanity...and with BlackBerry it's even easier to Tweet. Anyway, Twitter is fast becoming my source for the latest in music news. For instance, I learned that advanced promos of the new Mandy Moore album (or single?) have been sent out (via ArjanWrites).. This makes sense as Mandy Moore reported on her own blog that the new album has been completed. Can't wait to hear new Mandy! If you haven't joined Twitter yet...DO IT (and "follow me" by clicking on the link on the right hand column).

Here is a bit of music news that learned through Twitter yesterday:
Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas: One of my new fav music blogs, We Are Pop Slags posted the new Black Eyed Peas single "Boom Boom Pow," which is way more electropop than I was expecting. Just this past week Billboard reported that the new album, The E.N.D. would be out in June and that the single was soon to be serviced to radio and clubs (remixes?). Billboard also quoted will.i.am as saying that the album has "a lot of dance stuff, real melodic, electronic, soulful...we call it, like, electric static funk...." Interesting. I don't know if I'm feeling the new single yet. It might take a few more listens and a few remixes. Check it out at We Are Pop Slags.

Cher: Looks like Cher is leaving her dance pop sound behind with her new album, as well as leaving retirement behind. So much for her multi-year "Farewell Tour." Regardless, I'm excited for new Cher. When asked about her upcoming album in an Associated Press interview (via We Are Pop Slags), Cher said “It’s hard to put a label sometimes on songs, but it’s a little bit more guitar-oriented, a little bit more like “I Found Someone” feeling, and there’s some stuff that’s still sort of guitar-oriented, but it’s got a Southern feeling to it." I'll give anything by Cher a chance so bring it on!
Girls Aloud

Girls Aloud: On their official website, UK Girl Group (and Perez Hilton Favorite) announced that the 3rd single off their current album, Out Of Control will be "Untouchable." Not only is this brilliant track their 3rd single off of the current album, it's their 21st single overall! That's a pretty big accomplishment, although not as big as their recent Brit Award for best single (for the "The Promise"). Congrats Girls Aloud! Looking forward to more brilliance in the future. Oh...and I'm with Perez on this one...come on over to the States! Check out the (long) video for "Untouchable" at PopJustice).

New Lady Sovereign Single and More!

I finally got the last of my Ebay purchases yesterday. This includes Will Young's "Grace" remixes, Sugababes' "No Can Do" remixes, and Bryn Christopher's remixes for "Smilin'." I also got two Cher maxis - "Believe" and "Strong Enough." Nice, nice surprise :-)

Some random bits of news...Lily Allen's new album artwork has been revealed for "It's Not Me, It's You," due out in the U.S. on February 10th. I like it. She looks great! Her new single "The Fear" is released on iTunes today. It's available as both a radio-friendly edit and an explicit version. Check out the latter here.

Britney's official single artwork for "Circus" has also been released. I don't know what I feel about it. Never been a fan of video stills used as album/single sleeve artwork.

New favorite music blog ArjanWrites has posted a new single from Lady Sovereign, called "I Got You Dancing." It's reportedly off her new album "Jigsaw" via Midget Records/EMI. Check it out here. I still love "Love Me or Hate Me" so this is definitely a welcome return.
