[Review] Adele - Skyfall

Adele Skyfall

James Bond theme songs have always held a special place in my heart, which shouldn't come as a big surprise to anyone, given my passion for both music and film.  With the recent release of Adele's own Bond stunner, "Skyfall," the 24-year old English chanteuse finds herself sitting pretty among some of my favorite Bond singers, including Shirley Bassey ("Goldfinger," "Diamonds Are Forever," & "Moonraker"), Paul McCartney & Wings ("Live & Let Die"), Carly Simon ("Nobody Does It Better"), Sheena Easton ("For Your Eyes Only"), Tina Turner ("Goldeneye") and Garbage ("The World Is Not Enough").  Written by Adele and Paul Epworth (Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, Adele), "Skyfall" is easily the best James Bond theme song since 1999's EPIC rock-tinged "The World Is Not Enough," and a worthy addition to the lineage.

Hot Video Alert: Sheryl Crow feat. Justin Timberlake - Sign Your Name


Sheryl Crow keeps getting sexier and sexier with age. WOW. The stunning singer/songwriter seduces the camera in this video for "Sign Your Name," the second single from her seventh studio album 100 Miles From Memphis, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 Chart. The song is a cover Terence Trent D'Arby's 1987 Billboard Hot 100 top 4 hit and features Justin Timberlake on background vocals.  The single is a follow up to "Summer Day," which peaked at #2 on Billboard's Triple A Chart back in June.  My only complaint...no JT in the music video.

Hot Video Alert: Sheryl Crow - Summer Day



Oh Sheryl Crow. You sure do know how to put out the PERFECT summer single. Lightweight and breathable, just like the perfect summer outfit...OK don't know where I'm going with this analogy. Point is, the song is quintessential SUMMER. I love the whole 'concert in the park' vibe that the video has going on. "Summer Day" is the first single off of 1000 Miles From Memphis which is due out July 20th on A&M Records. The single is available to download on iTunes now.

Lilith Fair Lineup Announced - Round #1

Lilith Fair 2010Last week part of the lineup for Lilith 2010 was announced. Wow. POWERHOUSE! One of the things that I love about Lilith Fair, aside from it's knack for showcasing strong, talented females in the music industry, is how much variety the line up has to offer. Nearly every genre of music is represented here and this is only the first round of artists! Included in the group we have Sarah McLachlan (of course), Sheryl Crow, Indigo Girls, Mary J.
