[Hot Video Alert] Wolfette - Risk For You

Wolfette Risk For You

In case you missed it, sexy English electropop vixen Wolfette dropped the video for her latest single, "Risk For You,"  due May 28th (iTunes UK). The video was done by video production house Triple 3 and features the ravishing Wolfette constructing her own shadow man in a small white room with a bunch of lights and miscellaneous props.  Not sure why Wolfette needs an imaginary man, considering how drop dead GORGEOUS she is but it sure makes for an interesting video.  Love love love this girl. She needs to put out a whole album STAT.

[Review] Wolfette - Risk For You

Wolfette Risk For You

There's no doubt about it, UK singer/songwriter Wolfette keeps getting better with each song she releases.  Her latest hit, called "Risk For You," is due out May 28th and very well might be her best yet.  It's probably not a coincidence that my favorite Wolfette track is also her most commercial-sounding single.  This is not to say Wolfette is selling out, on the contrary, she's showing her versatility as an artist.  With it's driving beats and haunting vocals, "Risk For You" could easily find a place in a car advert or perhaps in a TV show  While past singles, "Different Story" and "Trophy Girl" both include heavy dance and electronica elements, they are both considerably more ROCK than the more club friendly "Risk For You," and for me, that's a good thing.

Hot Video Alert: Wolfette - Trophy Girl

Wolfette ROCKS. No doubt about it.  When I heard her second official single, "Different Story" last summer there was something about her that I just loved.  Obviously there was something, I hailed her one of my 'Ones To Watch' in 2011.  Sorry it took me until 2012 to post something else about her. My how time flies.  Wolfette is feisty, fiery...she just has it.  Her music is the perfect blend of pop and rock & roll with a gritty, grungy, rough around the edges vocal, hard hitting beats and a look that totally says I'M A POP STAR.  Listen to the single below:

Trophy Girl by Wolfette

Now I don't know too much about this track as far as who wrote it/produced it but I'm definitely ready for what's next. "Different Story" definitely whet my appetite for Wolfette and "Trophy Girl" only makes me hungry for more.  Listed as influences on her official Facebook page:
"Crazed nights, passionate fights, velvet rope and scarlet lips...Champagne highs, dirty basslines, Coco de Mer and whirlwind kisses...Green monster eyes, blood stained cries, firecrackers and broken glass...Knives in backs, nails that scratch, Vegas sins and diamond masks..."
Hell yeah! Rock on Wolfette.  This album is going to be FIRE. "Trophy Girl" is out now on UK iTunes HERE and on U.S. iTunes HERE.

Ones to Watch in 2011: Wolfette

There's something mesmerizing about English electropop/rock singer Wolfette. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that mesmerizes me, all I know is I like her and I think you will as well. On August 1st, Wolfette releases her new single, "Different Story," in the UK and it's a hard-hitting, 90s retro pop jam filled with punch and attitude, as one would expect from an artist with a fesity name like 'Wolfette.'  Listed among her influences: Garbage, Beck, Blondie, Peaches, Muse, Kasabian, The Kills, MSTRKRFT, The Killers, Prodigy, Goldfrap, Justice, Gwen Stefani, P!nk, and PJ Harvey.  I like where this girl's head is at! She's a total bad-ass rocker chick with electropop sensibilities.  Per the official press release:
"'Different Story' is a throwback to 90’s indie pop. The song details the feelings of hope in a relationship on the verge of break up and showcases Wolfette’s brilliant vocal delivery, as well a knack for writing a catchy atmosphere track. Fusing guitar and synths, Different Story is the perfect track to accompany you through the summer."
Catch the stunning music video for Wolfette's new single, "Different Story" below. I kinda think she looks like a bad-ass version of Natalie Imbruglia, no? Catch Wolfette live July 19th at the O2 Academy 2 in Islington and on August 18th at The Workshop in Hoxton.  While "Different Story" isn't available until August 1st, UK fans can download her previous single "Waiting For The Explosion" on UK iTunes HERE.
